APLIKASI MEDIA SOSIAL BERBASIS WEBSITE MENGGUNAKAN PHP DAN MYSQL

Abstract

Social media applications have become an important part of everyday life, because they facilitate communication between users around the world. However, many social media applications pay little attention to user privacy, where private posts can be accessed by people who are not yet friends, and interaction features such as 'like' and comments can be accessed without any restrictions. This poses a risk to user comfort in sharing personal content. This study aims to develop a web-based social media application using PHP and MySQL, focusing on user privacy features, registration, login, making friends, creating posts, and sending private messages. The research method used is system development with the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) approach and the Waterfall model. Data were collected through observations of similar applications and literature studies on social media. The research process includes analysis, design, implementation, testing, and application maintenance to ensure the functionality and quality of the system developed. The results of the study show that this application successfully provides features that support communication between users with an emphasis on user privacy. This application allows users to build and join communities based on common interests and provides entertainment content such as videos and images. Further development suggestions include adding features such as password recovery, notification system, real-time updates, mobile version development, and an admin system to manage content, accounts, and application activities to improve user security and convenience.
