Abstract

Dump trucks at PT EX operate in the transportation of oil palm fruit and compost over uneven, rocky terrain. These challenging conditions frequently cause damage to the braking system, particularly the brake calipers. The repair process for these brakes necessitates manual tire removal, which places a heavy burden on mechanics. This not only leads to fatigue and discomfort but also increases the risk of workplace accidents. This journal presents the implementation of SST Tire Lift at PT EX workshop as a solution to enhance the efficiency and safety of vehicle unit repairs. This case study analyzes the impact of using this tool on repair time and the incidence of workplace accidents, comparing it with conventional methods.

The research results indicate a significant improvement in both efficiency and safety. The use of SST Tire Lift successfully reduced repair time by 40.6% and minimized workplace accidents. This research recommends the use of SST Tire Lift as an effective and safe solution for dump truck unit repairs.
